The Hart & The Hunter

October 21, 2014

Located inside the Palihotel on Melrose is the Southern influenced Hart + The Hunter. We arrived for brunch and I can honestly say it was one of the best Sunday morning meals I’ve had all year. Maybe it’s the cool and rustic vibe, or the great service (those mimosas were constantly being topped off without even asking). Or maybe, it was the fact that the food speaks for itself - delicious, simple yet complex, farm-to-table dishes.

The Hart and The Hunter has a new chef, Patrick Costa. He’s still serving the H+H staples, like those flaky, buttery biscuits with jams - quite possibly the best in LA. Patrick also brings in some new items, like his version of Bagels and Lox  - smoked trout on an everything bagel served with horseradish cream and mustard. It was incredibly good - and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really like horseradish. It’s the one ingredient in this world that I don’t really care for, but I digress, just try it for yourself.

Other amazing dishes for brunch were the Chicken Cracklin Sandwich and the Croque Madame. I would come back just to order those again! Is it the weekend yet?
