Sunday Roast at The Hart & The Hunter

November 11, 2014

Sunday roast. The name alone evokes comforting thoughts of slow roasted meats and vegetables to be shared with friends and family on a cool Fall evening over a glass, er...bottle of wine. It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving or Christmas to enjoy a meal like this, it can be found on Sundays at The Hart and The Hunter.

Our three course dinner, four if you count those those heavenly, flaky, buttery biscuits, began with an arugula salad for the Mrs. and a roasted lamb belly for me. I have to stop here for a minute, and explain how incredible the lamb belly was! Put a piece of that rich lamb and a piece of the acidic pickled beets on your fork, then paint it with the pardon puree and you just created the perfect bite. For our second course, the Mrs. ordered the perfectly seared scallop and I went big with the roasted pork belly - it is a Sunday Roast after all. We finished our dinner with a butter cake with poached pears.

Chef Patrick Costa's Sunday Roast was a perfect Autumn dinner. The pre-fixed menu does change based on market availability, and it's wise to make reservations since the space filled up quickly as the night went on.
